DEEP MUSCLE THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE
with Kathy Perniciaro.  250 hours.  Learn to be a Massage Therapist.  This training includes massage technique, anatomy & physiology, kinesiology, pathology, communication skills, ethical considerations, & massage therapy law.   A 75 minute Deep Muscle Therapeutic Massage with some Acupressure & Reflexology techniques will be taught.  Two classes: 9:30 am or 6:30 pm. Training completed 5/24/12.  $2600.  To register you need to visit the school, a $150 registration fee, $160 text fee & a $200 tuition deposit.  This class is almost half the requirement for the 600 hour-diploma.  You design the remaining 350 hours from the many electives!  A weekly payment plan is available.
REFLEXOLOGY
with Patti Fedirko.  15 CE hours. Learn a professional protocol using this ancient modality. This hands on seminar teaches the Ingham method of reflexology. Additionally learn the history and many benefits to be used as a stand-alone treatment or to enhance your massage routine. 9 am, $225 +$22 text.
CPR AND BASIC FIRST AID

with a Certified American Heart Association instructor. 8 hours. Two year certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation for adults & children, including portable defibrillator use.  Presents the four modules of scientifically based first aid:

1) General Principles
2) Medical emergencies
3) Injuries
4) Environmental emergencies such as bites, stings & exposure.

Open to the public.  9 am, $75.

THERAPEUTIC TOUCH
with Ann Waters. 8 CE hours.  Learn the technique developed by a nurse and used in hospitals and health-care facilities worldwide to promote health, reduce pain & to establish balance and harmony in clients and patients. 9 am, $135 plus $10 text.

THERAPY FOR THE THERAPIST
with Kathy Perniciaro. 8 CE hours.  Advice for Massage Therapists to avoid discomfort & prevent injury in this line of work. Stretching, massage, ergonomics, body mechanics & proper use of equipment are reviewed. Two - three minute “self treatment breaks” are practiced allowing therapists to work without stress while improving work quality. 9 am, $135.

TRIGGER POINT TECHNIQUE
with Dr. Richard Berkowitz. 8 CE hours.  Learn what Trigger Points are and their neuromuscular origin.  Study the direct and indirect causes of Trigger Points and how to recognize and treat them in clients.  A basic knowledge of muscular anatomy is needed for accurate evaluation and treatment.  9 am, $150.
HEALING WITH CRYSTALS AND GEMSTONES

with Valerie Haag  8 CE hours. The proper use of crystals and gemstones can bring about spiritual, physical and emotional healing. Used for centuries in the healing communities, these stones bring profound benefits to the individual life force that sustains the physical body, Learn how to utilize the healing properties and use them to enhance your healing techniques.  Crystals and Gemstones available for purchase.  9 am.$150 + text

NUAD BO-RARN
with Pam Hodgkinson.  100 hours. The Traditional Massage of Thailand is performed on a mat, client fully clothed.  This ancient technique works on the energy meridians of the body then assists the client into Yoga-like stretches that cannot be done alone.  This art form is relaxing, yet energizing & profoundly increases flexibility & vitality.  Nine consecutive Mon. & Tues. 7 pm, and Sun. 2/19, 3/11 and 4/1/12.  $1100 + $30 text. 
MANUAL LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE
MANUAL LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE
with Marianne Welch-Salkind. 15 CE hours.  Physiology of the lymphatic and immune systems of the body to understand Lymphedema, a chronic condition that impacts on an individual’s appearance & well being.  Treating clients with Lymphedema &creating therapy plans for reducing the size and/or pressure of a limb.  Information to prevent Lymphedema where possible is offered.  Home-care & self-help information is given.  9 am, $190 plus $30 for text.
REIKI–LEVEL I
with Ann Waters. 10 CE hours.   Learn the Usui System , an ancient art of energy healing.  This class prepares you for hands-on work immediately.  Fri: 7 pm & Sat.: 9 am.  $150.
WARM RIVER STONE THERAPY
with Patti Fedirko.  15 CE hours.  A relaxing, yet therapeutic massage using smooth, heated river stones & water dispersible massage oil & Purepro aromatherapy products. One of the most relaxing & frequently requested therapies available in therapeutic & spa environments. Learn guidelines to ensure the safety of the client & yourself. Equipment & stones will be available for purchase.   9 am, $250
MASSAGE FOR CANCER PATIENTS
with Tom Loveless. 8 hours. Outlines common types of cancer, their symptoms, etiology, traditional medical treatments plus indications and contraindications of massage. Gives information on drug therapies, administration sites and the physical effects for most.  Discusses alternative treatments not approved by the AMA and complications they can present. Excellent information for all. The public is welcome. 9-5 pm. $145

With Joseph Levine 15 hours,  Learn about the Chinese massage (push, grab) that works by manipulating the soft tissues and articular relationships of the physical body, circulating body, fluids and activation of the chi energy system. Best suited for rectifying chronic pain, stress related disorders and traumatic conditions in the body.  9 am $200
PRACTICE MANAGEMENT
with Kathy Perniciaro. 8 CE hours.  Suggestions for establishing & maintaining a profitable, safe & prosperous massage practice.  Tips on every facet of being an employee, self employed, or several types of employment at the same time.  9 am, $135.
REIKI – LEVEL II 
with Ann Waters.  12 CE hours.  Reviews Reiki Level I (which is a prerequisite to taking this class). This Reiki level increases the power of hands-on healing and teaches a proven method of sending this energy over distances.  Fri. 7 pm, Sat. 9 am.  $250.
 AROMATHERAPY AND SPA MASSAGE
with Patti Fedirko. 15 CE hours.  Learn the antibacterial, antibiotic and anti-fungal properties of many essential oils, how they enter the body and how to administer them. Using many relaxing and healing oils, learn how to give a dry table salt glow. Additionally learn a foot bath with clay and herbs along with warm and cold stone treatments and protocols to enhance your work environment.  9 am, $185 + $20 text.

PNF STRETCHING
with Dr. Gerald Agasar. 8 CE hours.  Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitated Stretching is a non-invasive technique that enables therapists and other health-care practitioners to increase a client’s mobility, range of motion and strength.  This work can also increase the movement of the body’s connective tissue.  9 am, $150 + $22 text.

MINDFUL MEDITATION
with JoEllen Werthman. 6 Hours, This meditation Class will introduce you to the eastern and western styles of meditation. It will also answer questions about meditation and in particular, “Yes, you too can meditate!”. This class will help you add a wonderful self-care tool to your personal self-care program. 10 am, $130

SEATED MASSAGE
with Wendy White. 15 CE hours.  Learn a fifteen to twenty-five minute massage performed with the client fully clothed in a seated position.  Advice on how to market this very “portable modality” that is so popular in business locations, health fairs and other public places like sporting events.  Information on ordering a massage chair with a great discount.  9 am, $185.

ADVANCED WARM RIVER STONE
with Patti Fedirko. 15 Hours Take the next step up in working with Warm River Stones. Continue to work deeper with fast healing results by the addition of cold marble stones. This seminar addresses common complaints of the neck, shoulder and low back. Learn how to relieve carpal tunnel, plantar fasciitis and work the psoas, QL and periformis with both types of stones, warm and cold. Prerequisite: Warm River Stone 9 am sharp. $225.  Stones will be available for purchase.

SPORTS MASSAGE
with Amanda Catrombon.  20 CE hours.  Techniques are offered that are successful in improving athletic performance and shortening recovery time after a sporting activity.  The most popular sports, and the most common injuries occurring at these events, are discussed, as well as how to treat them during and after the event. Please wear or bring shorts/sweats and sneakers.  9 am, $250 plus $20

ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY REVIEW
with Judy Ford.  30 hours. Review of the structure and function of each system of the body & their interaction with each other.  Emphasis is on the skeletal & muscular systems.  Articulations as well as the Sensory systems also covered. This class is excellent preparation for taking standardized exams.  9 am, $290.  Also meeting 5/5 &5/6/12.  The Anatomy Coloring Book, 3rd Edition by Kapit and Elson is the text used.  If you don’t have this book it is available at the school for $22.
ETHICS AND THE THERAPIST
with Ann Waters. 6 CE hours.  Explores basic issues and the ethical decision-making process regarding confidentiality, prevention of sexual misconduct and professional boundaries, to name just a few.  Role-playing activities are offered and individual cases can be shared.  9 am, $125.

 MASSAGE THERAPY–CHIROPRACTIC INTERFACE
with Dr. Richard Berkowitz. 8 CE hours.  Learn about muscular and skeletal anatomy of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine, the treatment options available by chiropractors and massage therapists and the synergistic effect obtained when several treatment modalities are incorporated in a treatment plan.  9 am, $140.
THE TRAUMATIZED CLIENT  AND MASSAGE
with Kathy Perniciaro.  8 hours   This class will be beneficial to help you understand the client with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, how to provide a for massage them, while ensuring their safety on the table. The class deals with  issues that may arise with the client who has a history of trauma, without trying to “fix” the issues”. Learn your boundaries regarding what you can or cannot do.  Especially helpful for those who have clients who may be survivors of 9/11, soldiers returning from war, accident, or abuse survivors trying to feel safe in their body. 9 am $150

WARM STONE REFLEXOLOGY     
with Patti Fedirko.  8 hours Using the warmth of the river stones learn to open the reflex pathways for healing. No discomfort to you or the client, is very relaxing and provides healing with less pressure on the therapist’s thumbs. Learn proper techniques for a powerful reflexology protocol in this hands-on seminar. Prerequisite: Basic reflexology. Sat. 9 am sharp. $150

HBV, HIV, AIDS AWARENESS
with Tom Loveless.  8 CE hours.  Required in the pending PA licensure bill.  Educates health care providers about the physiologic indications, referral recommendations, pharmacology and the transmission risks of these diseases.  Outlines the pathology of Hepatitis B virus, Human Immunodeficiency Virus and Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome.  Supplies practical precautions to protect you from infection and perspectives to eliminate fear and alarm while working with those who are infected.  9 am, $150

PALPATION & ASSESSMENT
with Kathy Perniciaro. 20 CE hours. Learn to read the signs and signals of discomfort.  Practice using palpation to locate abnormal tissue and how it moves.  Once the source of pain is located, master the techniques to give relief.  Recognize the switch between assessment, tissue activity and a therapeutic response.  9 am, $300 plus $25 workbook.
ADVANCED REFLEXOLGY WITH WARM STONES 
with Patti Fedirko. 15 Hours combine all of your reflexology with oils, warm and cold stones. This modality is for helping in specialized areas of the feet. A great hands-on seminar that makes for a growing practice in all modalities. Prerequisite: Warm Stone Relflexology. 9 am sharp  $185
 CHRONIC PAIN SYNDROME
with Kristina Crabtree. 15 CE hours.  Learn about health-diminishing conditions such as Fibromyalgia, Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy & Lupus, what they have in common and why they respond well to therapeutic massage.  Learn the physiology, as well as the mental and emotional aspects of chronic pain syndromes.  Presents techniques to provide relief. 9 am, $230 + $20 text.
EXAM PREPARATION
with Kathy Perniciaro. 40 hours.  Structured practice for passing standard massage and bodywork examinations.  Tips for the “exam anxious” are also given.  Tests given include questions about therapeutic massage and bodywork, assessment and application of treatment, anatomy and physiology, pathology, professional standards, ethics and sound business practices. Helps to prepare the student for the PA state licensing examinations.

TECHNIQUES FOR THE TOTALLY TENSE
with Ann Waters. 8 CE hours. Vocabulary & communication skills, guided imagery & relaxation techniques that can be incorporated into any therapeutic modality.  9 am, $135.
